Despite the controversy over the years, the British Turner prize has established itself well into the awareness of the public. Asking the public what they think and allowing spectators to post their opinions on billboards in the museum and on the Tate website is a brilliant way to get people involved in the contemporary art discourse.

Unfortunately, here in Israel, art is far from being on the public agenda. Discussions regarding art are held in very limited forums. Yes, we do have much more demanding issues on our daily agenda but, in my opinion, all the more reason to highlight the aspects of life that add richness and joy.
