Our self definition as Israelis differs from any other national definition.

The Israeli identity is composed of many contexts – historical, cultural and ethnic. Till today, all efforts to reach a final, homogeneous definition have failed – perhaps because the Israeli society is full of differences and contradictions.
So complicated is the matter, that usually, at least two words are needed for a satisfactory definition: secular Israeli, Religious Zionist, Israeli Arab, Sephardi Israeli etc…
Without doubt, this mosaic gives the word "Israeli" its special colors.
The compulsive search for identity also manifests itself as one of the major themes in Israeli art.

This exhibition aspires to offer a tidbit of the various tasted that assemble the Israeli identity.
